To prevent your location from being identified or your personal information leaked in ways you did not intend, please review the handling of your personal information below.
Potential Risks for Unintentional Identification of Location or Personal Information
- Remarks regarding information that can lead to identifying your whereabouts, such as your school or workplace.
Even if you do not specifically name a place, multiple pieces of information can narrow down your location.
Please be aware that train lines, local products, weather, school department names, event names, and similar things can all be used as clues to identify private information.
- Sounds in the background while streaming
Sounds of trains, ambulances, station announcements, and buses can identify that you are near a train line, that you live in a house facing a driveway, the type of train, the station you use, or the area in which you live.
Please pay close attention to not only what you say, but also the sounds around you when streaming.
- Schedule sharing
Talking about your plans in detail, such as "I'm going to XX tomorrow'' or "I pass by XX every day'' makes it easier to paint a picture of your private life and could pinpoint your location. We recommend that you refrain from providing any information that could identify your location or where you live.
If you have experienced someone within IRIAM trying to ask for your personal information or someone asking to meet up, please feel free to contact us using the in-app inquiry form.
